When Jesus was executed, his disciples thought it was the end of the story even though he had always promised them that on the
third day he would be raised.
He showed himself first to Mary Magdalene and then to many of his followers so that they might be witnesses to his resurrection
from the dead.
On Easter Sunday Christians rejoice, not only because Christ overcame death but because through him we too have the hope of
eternal life.
It is for this that we are giving thanks every time we celebrate the Eucharist.
