Stained Glass Museum

Visitors

A national collection of stained glass, religious and secular, from 1200 to the present Day.

This unique museum offers an insight into the long story of stained glass. For at least thirteen hundred years the art has been practised in Britain. You will learn the secrets of this ancient craft and glimpse its role in the unfolding story of British history.

Main Gallery

Our Main Gallery contains displays of stained glass windows ranging over eight centuries in specially illuminated cases.

Access

The Museum is located on the upper level of Ely Cathedral accessed by a short spiral staircase. A touch-screen virtual museum visit is available through our interactive display on the ground floor. Please ask at the Cathedral Front Desk to use this and other accessibility facilities or visit our website to learn more about our access arrangements.
